My name is Jasper and I am a Graphic Designer for the Desert Rose. I am currently in my final year of a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Arts and Design – Deans Scholar). I have always had a passion for sustainable thinking and living and so when I was presented with the opportunity to join the team I saw it as a way to combine my creative practice and thinking with my passion for sustainability.
I started out illustrating a dementia infographic, followed by a character design for the Saferoo and Safe Clayton safety campaign. Most recently I have developed a set of 11 posters for the educational space at the TAFE campus. This space is designed to educate future students, businesses and tradespeople on the ideas and components that make up the Desert Rose in order to motivate and enthuse sustainable thinking within the building industry.
Each poster began as a list of dot points on a variety of topics from the innovations of technology to dementia-friendly design. Every topic is paired with a series of illustrations and diagrams to help effectively communicate each point. The posters are also designed to be easily read, irrespective of age and education. The posters, the education space and most of my design work for the Desert Rose are ways of communicating and spreading the message of a team that is dedicated to creating an innovative and sustainable future that celebrates life.
